Actors often face intense online scrutiny for their looks, with many users commenting on their bodies and facial features. Rakul reshared the post on Instagram and wrote, “Fraud alert: it’s scary that people like him are claiming to be doctors and making statements without any factual checks and misleading people.”
Rakul further shared that while she supports people undergoing cosmetic procedures, it is unfair for someone to make baseless claims about others. She wrote, “Being an actor who understands ancient and modern science, I have no issues if people do surgeries, but there is also another thing called weight loss that comes from hard work. Ever heard of that?” She added, “beware of such ‘doctors’.”Story continues below this ad

In the video, the man claimed that Rakul had gotten fillers and Botox to enhance her facial structure and also alleged that the actor had undergone a nose job. Rakul was recently seen in De De Pyaar De 2, which also featured R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn and Meezaan Jaffri. The film earned Rs 111.53 crore worldwide against a reported budget of Rs 135 crore.
While Rakul called out fake claims about getting plastic surgery, several actors in the past have openly spoken about going under the knife. Khushi Kapoor, daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, has spoken about undergoing cosmetic surgeries, including a nose job, and shared that being called ‘plastic’ does not bother her.
She was later asked about her decision to publicly speak about her cosmetic surgery experience, to which she said, “I don’t think it’s such a big deal. The main issue is that people are scared that they will get hate if they come out and admit it. I just feel like there’s going to be hate either way. People think that the term ‘plastic’ is the biggest insult you can give someone, but I don’t think it’s bad if someone gets work done and stuff like that.”
