Dhurandhar box office collection day 4: There seems to be no stopping Aditya Dhar’s spy actioner Dhurandhar. By the end of its third day, the film had already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark, becoming Ranveer Singh’s fastest film to reach such a milestone. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film, which boasts an impressive ensemble cast led by Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, continued its strong momentum on day four as well, passing the crucial Monday test with a collection of Rs 23 crore. This brings its total domestic net collection to Rs 126 crore.
Since day four fell on a working Monday, Dhurandhar witnessed an expected drop of around 46.51 percent from Sunday. However, the hold was still considered solid, as it recorded an overall occupancy of 32.43 percent. Morning shows began with a modest 13.35 percent occupancy, which rose to 26.17 percent in the afternoon and 37.71 percent in the evening. The day ended on a strong note with 52.49 percent occupancy in night shows. Regionally, Delhi–NCR registered the highest number of shows (1,443) with an occupancy of 37 percent, while Mumbai, (with 1,080 shows), recorded a similar occupancy level.
Dhurandhar also marks a much-needed commercial revival for lead star Ranveer Singh, whose recent outings have struggled at the box office. While Karan Johar’s 2023 Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was a success, it collected only Rs 52.92 crore in its first four days. His other films, including Rohit Shetty’s disastrous Cirkus (Rs 23.55 crore in four days) and Kabir Khan’s modest 83 (Rs 54.29 crore, impacted by the Omicron wave), also fell short.
The film has also outperformed several recent releases headlined by major stars. Salman Khan’s Sikandar collected Rs 84.25 crore in four days, while Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 66.65 crore. Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (Rs 71.25 crore), Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 (Rs 100.5 crore), and the surprise romantic blockbuster Saiyaara (Rs 107.25 crore) also trailed behind Dhurandhar in the same timeframe. Even Aditya Dhar’s own breakout hit, Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), had collected only Rs 46.24 crore in its first four days.
However, Dhurandhar still lags behind the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which amassed Rs 140.5 crore in four days. And even Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which achieved a massive Rs 245.49 crore in the same period in 2023. Even so, the minimal drop on Monday and its ability to stay close to its opening-day figures signal that Dhurandhar is poised for a sustained box-office run in the coming days.
